For the father of my kids

It was Father’s Day yesterday – here are a few things I want to thank the father of my kids for:

  • Thanks for playing with them; I’m not so good at the playing and I hate hide and seek – luckily he’s always happy to oblige them and really good at roleplaying, voices and general silliness.
  • Thanks for providing for us. Because though things are pretty well split now, they haven’t always been and he has never stopped making sure we’ll be ok financially.
  • Thanks for being much more patient than me, in pretty much everything.
  • Thank you for making us laugh, tickling us too hard, all the cuddles, all the silly impressions, the accents, the funny faces.
  • Thanks for the adventures, holidays, day trips, and the downtime at home.
  • Thanks for keeping your cool during lockdown even when homeschooling got really hard and there was nowhere to escape.
  • Thanks for working really hard, even at home when it’s really hard to concentrate and I know you just want to goof around with the boys.
  • Thanks, even when family life gets really hard. You’re the best.

Most of all, thank you for giving me these boys who we love so much.

Hope you all had a good one – however you spent it. To those for whom it was difficult, here’s my love and hugs.
